We don’t want to have a static plan when technology is moving so quickly in this industry.CIO: Where is this innovation in transportation evident to you in Cana- da?GC: We are seeing an abundance of innovation in the construction of our roadways, in terms of how they are fi- nanced (P3) and toll collection, as well as using statistical analysis to deter- mine how highways behave and where safety improvements should be made, using asset management principles andprograms to prioritize improvements on our roadways.Not only that, we are seeing so much innovation in building, for in- stance using heavy lift technology in rapid bridge replacements. We are also using technology to monitor winter road conditions and track winter main- tenance vehicles such as plows.
