CANADIAN INDUSTRY ONLINE - NOVEMBER 2015TACCIO: How has TAC really brought industry together and helped move the industry forward?GC: Our national TAC conference in Montreal was a huge success, and so for this year’s conference we wanted to replicate that success in Charlotte- town, PEI. Officials at the PEI Conven- tion Center told us that since the new building was opened in 2013, this was their largest conference ever with close to 900 delegates and their companions.The events at the conference in late September were all well-attended, included excellent guest speakers, pre-sentations, and over 50 technical ses- sions, panels and workshops.In addition, our council meetings were quite successful and there were lots of discussions at the board meeting that were productive, looking at things from a different perspective to set our strategic plan for the next 5 years.CIO: So has there been a strategy planned for the next five years or so?GC: There will be so much change in the next decade that we want to en- sure we are able to capture some of those innovative changes we will see in68| Canadian Industry Online | November, 2015
