CANADIAN INDUSTRY ONLINE - OCTOBER 2015 WG: We are much different from our competitors. Growth happens a lot slower when you have to build your own infrastructure and so our growth has happened slower than some. But this enables us to provide more qual- ity because we’re not making speed a priority. One thing however that we are concerned with is building our own networks, and that is how we defi- nitely stand out not from big telecom but from other “independents”. We’re building our own infrastructure where others are depending on other compa- nies.We are standing out from the competition because we’re offering access to those people who have no access. A great example is in Chapleau Ontario, about 5 hours northwest of Sudbury—a very rural community. This is our sweet spot—underserved areas where there is no competition.Eventually, we will serve all of these areas where people can’t get ser- vice. Often, a homeowners association in a rural area will get together an ap- proach us for service. The cost is often high but the need is there.CIO: What is so great about Vi- anet internal culture and how does40
