VIANETized services in very minimally ser- viced regions of the province. Big tele- com definitely can’t properly service those areas with their size.CIO: How has Vianet developed its service list? What have been the pri- mary motivators?Brian McCullagh: Technology has driven the development of our ser- vices. We provide different solutions to help businesses and individuals that have specialized needs. In addition, customers give us feedback on what they want from us and we take cuesfrom that as well.WG: It is a big advantage also for our business customers that we’re not married to one technology. We’ll uti- lize whatever network is going to help our customer best and give them what they need (not what the other telecom companies give us.) Our primary con- cern is providing the best possible ser- vice to our customers. Eventually we’d like to provide those services from our own operated networks.CIO: How has the competitive landscape shifted for Vianet?37
