NAABAand help companies develop. “We work with great partners in Industry with whom we share information and network,” says Hahn. “This year we’re trying to remain status quo because the industry has taken a downturn,” Hahn notes. “Instead of focusing on growing our membership, we’re work- ing to get our members prepared for the next boom. We’re looking at keep- ing NAABA a healthy association and making sure our members have what they need to be successful.”Mercredi adds that promotingwhat NAABA can do for Aboriginal businesses is paramount, as is what Aboriginal businesses can do for in- dustry: “We’re trying to make sure en- ergy sector is aware that there are com- panies here in Alberta that can do the work industry needs, they don’t need to go out of province. That’s our job. We are all strong together. We wantto present unity between Aboriginal businesses and industry. We stay away from politics and focus on business, that way everyone can achieve a lot.”In short, the reasons to join NAA-49
