We have an industry that has de- veloped in the province organically—it started in the 90s and that has spun off into businesses that have been pur- chased by larger companies. We have grown global and local players in this industry.What about infrastructure? What projects are being done that are bol- stering the economy?Infrastructure development is crucial to our economy and industries to grow. It really impacts our econmy and qualityof life. Weve committed $150 million per year in extra infrastructure projects for six years (starting in 2014). Investing in the Port of St. John for instance is a huge project.How is the province encouraging youth to become entrepreneurs?We have been doing consulta- tions and stakeholder engagement to encourage and invest into plans around education, and programs that will fos- ter creativity and think in innovative ways, which is important because we want the next generation to be com- fortable using and creating technology.12 |Canadian Industry Online | October, 2017
