tive, but this doesn’t mean that it is
right for everyone. In order to test its
stability, and prove this stability to cus-
tomers, Kinsman had his own home
built with these logs. “Anyone worried
about energy efficiency will like this
product.”
Being green is a tradition for
Confederation. Not only do they of-
fer green product options, but they
manufacture and operate in a sustain-
able way. “Our manufacturing facility
is zero waste. Everything is recycled or
reused.”
It is important to note that ulti-
mately, log and timber frame homes
are naturally more energy efficient,
adding to the long list of reasons why
to invest in this type of build.
Why log? It’s simple. The over-
all look and the feel of the home, it is
something very different and appeal-
ing, and it has a natural fitting with
nature. Not only that, customization
options are endless, and the resale val-
ue is very high,” Kinsman says.
The company wants potential
customers to know that their homes
are offered at comparable pricing to
stick-built homes, and they can work
within a budget. “Everything is open
for modification to our customers,” he
continues.
A LEGACY OF CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customer service has certainly
helped Confederation get where the
company is today. “Our reputation
speaks highly of what to expect, and
when it comes down to it, we have
happy customers after 35 years. Our
team has a wealth of knowledge here
and we have a plan in place to grow
the business. We’re not going any-
where, as evident with our 50 year
guarantee on our homes!” Kinsman
says. Confederation truly strives for
customer satisfaction from start to fin-
ish.
And when it comes to future
plans, the company intends to stick
with what works. “If it ain’t broke,
don’t fix it—that motto speaks to what
we’re about,” Kinsman concludes.
The company is working on a
succession plan to hand the business
down to the Kinsman sons. But cus-
tomers should still expect that hands-
on delivery practice, and can bet that
Rick will still be on site during as
many builds.
