British
Columbia, one company is foster-
ing the growth of local communities—
through exceptional home construc-
tion.
Winton Homes and Cottages, part
of the renown Sinclar Group, has been
transforming the way homes are creat-
ed for more than 30 years. A leader in
pre-manufactured homes and cottages,
the company has made a name for
itself in the Northern British Columbia
market.
Winton Homes and Cottages
provides pre-fab homes to savvy cus-
tomers who are offered a full array of
options and material choices, whether
families are looking to build their
dream recreational abode, or a brand
new custom home.
The difference between a Winton
home and anything else in the Ca-
nadian marketplace: the completely
unique, personalized process that
comes with buying from the company.
Winton Homes and Cottages has made
its mark through a solid reputation for
superior customer service that begins
and ends with the gratification of the
customer and attention to a family’s
needs and wants.
This unwavering approach to
personalized home construction stems
from a long history of excellent service,
and who better to talk about the com-
pany’s reputation, stature in the mar-
ket, and future plans for success than
the President of Sinclar Group Forest
Products, Greg Stewart.
How have Sinclar Group, and by
proxy Winton Homes and Cottages,
become such impenetrable leaders in
your industry?
Greg Stewart: Winton Homes
and Cottages, originally Winton
Global Homes and before that Spruce
Capital Homes, was created by a local
group of homebuilders. Being local
is an integral ingredient to the com-
pany’s development.
In 1997 our organization Sinclar
Group purchased the company, and
it was an ideal alignment. Sinclar
Group is a forest product company,
and has been a provider of products
associated with building for decades.
We are experts in manufacturing val-
ue-added wood materials, and have
grown to be a leader in the industry
here in BC. Winton Homes and Cot-
tages at the time was growing in the
factory-framed market, so the pur-
chase made sense.
For Sinclar Group, and Winton
Homes and Cottages, part of being
local is working with First Nations
partners, whom we consider critical
to our business. Under the Sinclar
umbrella we have many partnerships
with First Nations: Tl’oh Forest Prod-
ucts was created in 1995 and is now
an industry leader. This company
produces finger joint stud lumber,
and is an example of our commitment
to growing the communities in which
we have grown and succeeded.
