KEY FEATURES
The Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway will be an 11 kilometre freeway with 11 tunnels totalling 1.8 kilometres.
The Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway will include community and environmental features, such as:

kilometres of tunnelled sections

More than 300 acres of green space
• 20
kilometres of recreational trails
•
Extensive landscaping throughout the corridor
•
The use of proven techniques to reduce noise levels

Special measures to protect wildlife
The Parkway will also improve quality of life by getting trucks off local streets, improve air quality and reconnect neighbourhoods by way
of more than 300 acres of new green space and 20 kilometres of recreational trails.
Local and international traffic will be separated, taking trucks off local streets. Service roads will meet community needs to access
schools, shops, neighbourhoods and natural areas.
Highway 401 will be designed and constructed as a six-lane freeway (three lanes in each direction). Highway 3 will be designed and con-
structed as a four-lane arterial (two lanes in each direction).
